Northern California jewelry artist Jodi Douglass finds inspiration in the opulent, organic designs of the Victorian era, rich with saturated colors, intricate lacy filligree, and floral and bird motifs. Her designs begin with fine sterling silver wire twisted into delicate shapes, to which she adds combinations of delicate seed pearls, one-of-a-kind antique laces and glass buttons, leather bolos, and her signature semi-precious stones in a constellation of colors: ruby, carnelian, peridot, citrine, turquoise, jasper, onyx, and agate, as well as milk glass and coral. Jodi's flair for bold combinations of color, texture, and shape can be seen in her line inspired by the heavenly bodies of the solar system: necklaces, bracelets, and earrings created of round stones of various sizes and colors evocative of the planets.
Jodi earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Fashion Design at the Louise Sallinger Academy of Fashion in San Francisco. At Cabrillo College in Santa Cruz, California, she studied welding, metal sculpture, lost wax casting, and jewelry design and fabrication.
